Why Should I record my performances?
There are two possibilities, but if you are a business that hosts performances please see our Event Videos page. For artists, bands, managers please continue reading.
Here is why you need to record your performances. The first reason is to have a digital library of performances. This can help push an artists EPK (electronic press kit) and could be crucial for venues to pick you up or not.
There are multiple uses for an artist/band to have performances recorded. The second reason is future performances. You can use previous footage to promote upcoming performances as well. These can also be used in vlog series, music videos, and digital ads.
The third most important use of recorded performances is you can use them to gain sponsorship from companies. Our clients have landed sponsorship's that were directly related to our services.
What about audio recordings?
Depending on the project and the goal of it we have different options. CustomShooters has the ability to link in with a mixing board and record the sound before it ever comes out from a speaker. This is an advantage for the times where a venue's speakers are less than ideal for the type of music being played or acoustic space.
We also record on camera as well, simply due to adding in room noise and a real feel from the concert. Otherwise the recordings will have a studio booth reverb feel.
We can mix the audio from the mixing board and the on board camera. What is ideal is if a song set list and songs can be provided beforehand. This eliminates any issues that can come from a mixing board. A lot of times artists/bands are busy setting up or doing meet and greats and can not confirm they like the sound coming out of the mixing board. If this happens then our recording from the mixing board may not be usable.
